Difference Between Original Bamboo Fiber & Bamboo Pulp Fiber
As we all know, bamboo fiber is made from bamboo. But lots of people don’t know that bamboo fiber is divided into two kinds of fiber according to different process flow and method: Natural original bamboo fiber and bamboo pulp fiber (namely bamboo viscose fiber or regenerated cellulose bamboo fiber). Original bamboo fiber is directly picked up from natural bamboo without any chemical additive, using physical and mechanical method. Original bamboo fiber is really natural, green, healthy, eco-friendly fiber, and health care and functional effect is quite prominent. In order to differentiate from bamboo fiber (bamboo pulp fiber or bamboo viscose fiber), we call it as original bamboo fiber or pure natural bamboo fiber. But bamboo pulp (viscose) fiber belongs to regenerated cellulose fiber of chemical fiber. 

The process flow for original bamboo fiber and bamboo pulp fiber as following:

1. Original bamboo fiber (directly picked up from bamboo):
Raw bamboo → bamboo strip → steaming of bamboo strip → crushing and decomposing → biological enzyme degumming → fiber carding →natural original bamboo fiber 
2. Bamboo pulp fiber:
Raw bamboo -> thick pulp -> fine pulp -> bamboo pulp fiber
Functional property:
Anti-bacterial, Anti- Ultraviolet and deodorant function etc of original bamboo fiber is much stronger than one of bamboo pulp fiber. The production process of bamboo pulp fiber is similar to that of viscose. The bamboo strips are firstly processed into pulp, which is then further processed into pulp sheet before it is finally manufactured into bamboo fiber through the wet spinning process. Disadvantages of this kind of bamboo fiber processing are visible deterioration of the fiber’s properties such as antibacterial, deodorant and ultraviolet radiation resistant because of the destroyed natural characteristics of the bamboo during process of preparation.

Dry/Wet tensile strength (CN/dtex):
Dry/Wet tensile strength of original bamboo fiber is higher than bamboo pulp fiber

Color:
Color of Original bamboo fiber is lighter and whiter than bamboo pulp (viscose) fiber

Hand feeling:

The appearance of original bamboo fiber is similar with ramie fiber or bast fiber and leaf fiber, but original bamboo fiber is finer and thinner than ramie fiber, and anti-bacterial, germicidal, deodorant and anti-UV effect of original bamboo fiber is stronger than ones of ramie fiber and bamboo pulp fiber (bamboo viscose fiber).

Because of different structure of two kinds of fiber, Degree of crystallization and heat stability from original bamboo fiber is higher than bamboo pulp fiber. Moisture release of original bamboo fiber is stronger than one of bamboo pulp fiber. Original bamboo fiber is much cooler than bamboo pulp fiber.
